I have used metal detectors for some years and needed a backup when I purchased this used metal detector off Ebay. I was pleased to find that with a little work it performs nearly as well as my main detector that cost in excess of $900. The specs given with the product are understated as the unit performs better than that in most situations. Perhaps the maker was honest enough to quote specs at the lowest possible end to allow for manufacturing variability. Either way, it is a keeper.
Have you ever fantasized about finding buried treasure in your backyard, on the beach or while just walking down the road? How do we really know what’s buried beneath our feet? What if there’s riches underneath us right now? There’s only one way to find out. First, you should learn how to use a metal detector. That’s right. Metal detectors are a great way to uncover that which we cannot see. You really don’t know what you’ll find until you begin looking. You just have to get your hands on a metal detector. There’s no reason, though, to spend a lot of money on one. You can always get a used metal detector; until you become accustomed to using one, and hopefully after you’ve already found a good amount of buried treasure.
If your new to metal detecting starting off with a used detector can save you a lot of money or it can cause you a lot of headaches. Stick to a name brand detector Fisher, Whites, Tesoro, Bounty Hunter or Garrett. You can find lots of free helpful advice online for these models.
Best Used Metal Detector Sources
One way to go about getting a good used metal detector is at a pawn shop. Pawn shops are notorious for having these sorts of items. It should only take a few minutes to call around to the various pawn shops in your area to see if they have used metal detectors. If you can’t find them at the local pawn shops, try the internet. There are many online resources you can try to find used metal detectors. You can try free classified ad sites such as Craigslist.org, you can try Ebay, or any of the other online auction sites. Once you get your hands on a used metal detector, you just have to become proficient in using one and then you can get to hunting.

2 silver coins, a 1951 sixpence and 1923 threepence. one halfpenny and 3 pennies from the 1940s. also a couple of guys from Bruce Rock back their detecting. Is good to see some more people into this hobby in this area. Yesterday was a solid 14 hours of drizzle and light rain after the storm went through town the previous night. All up less than a inch of rain but it has made the soil damp again and easy to get digger into. |
