If you are looking to get into the coin hunting hobby and have your heart set on getting a White metal detector but can not afford one I am here to tell you to not give up. What you need to do is take a look and get a white metal detector on eBay. The pricing you can get on a White metal detector on eBay is going to be way better then you can get at any dealer around. Plus if you are willing to settle for a used White metal detector on eBay, you can save a ton of money and have a very high quality product for cheap. Many times people will buy a metal detector thinking that they want to get into the hobby and then will realize it is not for them and put their White detector on eBay. This is a chance for you to get a practically new detector for cheap, but you have to be careful.

What To Look Out For When Purchasing A White Metal Detector On EBay

There are many scams and scammers out there looking to separate you from your money. Unfortunately it seems that most of them have gravitated towards eBay as a way to practice their trade. Before you buy a White metal detector on eBay or even a White metal detector part you need to check out the seller thoroughly. EBay offers many tools to help you with this and you should use them to your advantage.

First check to see what the seller’s feedback looks like. If there is a significant amount of negative feedback then the user probably is not going to be able to get you the product as promised. A couple here and there is ok as things happen, but when you see a consistent pattern of negative feedback you need to be wary as it could be a situation that will lead you into trouble.

While checking the feedback, check to see who is leaving it. This is almost as important as what they are saying. Many times people can have inflated scores and rating because they have had people leave fake feedback on products they did not exist so that they could better pull off their scams. If you see anything in the feedback that makes you think this might be the case I would avoid buying the White metal detector on eBay from that person.

This is not to say that everyone on eBay is bad, there are many great sellers on eBay you just have to look hard to find them. In all honesty the odds on you getting a good seller are far higher then getting a bad one, but you want to take steps to make sure anyway.

used-metal-detectors-reviews Finding A White Metal Detector On EBay

When searching for used metal detectors, you may have come across names like Garrett or even used Whites and Fisher metal detectors. In my opinion you definitely want to go with a used Garrett metal detector.

Garrett detectors are quality units. I’ve owned a Garrett metal detector since around 1980. It’s a Garrett Master Hunter A.D.S., that is a vlf tr unit. I’ve taken care of it and it still works well and I still use it for Cache hunting and prospecting. Although it requires 6 9volt batteries.

Used Garrett metal detectors will serve your needs nicely. As long as you make sure your used Garrett metal detector works properly, and as long as you know how to use it (they’re not that hard to learn how to use), you’re in for one great time. When you’re out there, scanning the ground with your used Garrett metal detector, you’ll be surprised at what you’ll find. Find jewelry, coins, electronics or all of the above and have a fun time doing it.

Where Should You Look For A Used Garrett Detector?

When people need money, they go to the pawn shop to get cash for their jewelry, their electronics, their guns and even their used metal detectors. If you can’t find any Garrett’s at your local pawn shops, there is always the internet. You can go to Ebay, one of the free classified ad sites, or just do a web search to see if you can find any websites that specialize in offering used items, such as used Garrett metal detectors.

Fisher Gold Strike

Fisher Gold Strike

If you are looking for Fisher Gold Strike Metal Detector then you are in the right place.

My neighbor has a Fisher Gold Strike. This detector was well liked a few years ago when it first came out… then Fisher mysteriously quit manufacturing it and now only makes the Gold Bug 2.

I have heard of no one who didn’t like this detector. It looks a lot like the CZ7 with the flat surface push button controls.

This 30 kHz detector is the first Fisher to provide operators with a constant control readout. It boasts a digital LCD display, fast automatic ground balancing, two-tone ID system, advanced digital signal processing, and a 10.5” elliptical coil. Some of the other exciting features include; an automatic low battery warning, an automatic signal overload warning, F.A.C.T. (alerts the operator when the coil is not properly installed), 3 memory locations to store your favorite settings, and an LCD backlight for hunting in low-light situations.

I don’t know why Fisher discontinued this detector I was out in the feild with another $1000 gold detector I noticed the Gold$trike was much more sensitive to smaller pieces of gold and other metals, also it has the ability to reject hot rocks and detect gold underneath them where my other gold detector does not, this is almost cutting edge for its ability to detect very very small pieces of gold!! Once you learn how it behaves in black sand and how to set it up properly for mineralized soil it works very well.

Overall this is a very good prospecting detector. To bad it’s no longer made. This is a link to the manual – Gold Strike Manual

I have used metal detectors for some years and needed a backup when I purchased this used metal detector off Ebay. I was pleased to find that with a little work it performs nearly as well as my main detector that cost in excess of $900. The specs given with the product are understated as the unit performs better than that in most situations. Perhaps the maker was honest enough to quote specs at the lowest possible end to allow for manufacturing variability. Either way, it is a keeper.

Have you ever fantasized about finding buried treasure in your backyard, on the beach or while just walking down the road? How do we really know what’s buried beneath our feet? What if there’s riches underneath us right now? There’s only one way to find out. First, you should learn how to use a metal detector. That’s right. Metal detectors are a great way to uncover that which we cannot see. You really don’t know what you’ll find until you begin looking. You just have to get your hands on a metal detector. There’s no reason, though, to spend a lot of money on one. You can always get a used metal detector; until you become accustomed to using one, and hopefully after you’ve already found a good amount of buried treasure.

If your new to metal detecting starting off with a used detector can save you a lot of money or it can cause you a lot of headaches. Stick to a name brand detector Fisher, Whites, Tesoro, Bounty Hunter or Garrett. You can find lots of free helpful advice online for these models.

Best Used Metal Detector Sources

One way to go about getting a good used metal detector is at a pawn shop. Pawn shops are notorious for having these sorts of items. It should only take a few minutes to call around to the various pawn shops in your area to see if they have used metal detectors. If you can’t find them at the local pawn shops, try the internet. There are many online resources you can try to find used metal detectors. You can try free classified ad sites such as Craigslist.org, you can try Ebay, or any of the other online auction sites. Once you get your hands on a used metal detector, you just have to become proficient in using one and then you can get to hunting.
